Throwing Balls Off Of Cliffs For Science!

You may or may not be familiar with a phenomenon known as the Magnus effect. The Magnus effect is what causes balls that are rotating to spin off into a particular direction. An example of this would be when baseball pitchers throw curve balls. The additional spin added to the ball in flight causes it to pull off towards the rotation of the spin. To show the coolest example of this, these guys climbed to the top of a ridiculously high (and beautiful) cliff to throw a basketball off it. Let’s see what happens!
